Creation of ENTSO for electricity

Brussels, 19/12/2008 (Agence Europe) - EU Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs has welcomed the creation on Friday 19 December 2008 of a European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E). The 42 European Transmission System Operators responsible for running the highest voltage interconnected grid signed an agreement to establish this ENTSO-E which could become the TSO organisation foreseen in the EU's 3rd internal market package.
