EU and United States want to begin talks for agreement on data protection in near future

Brussels, 17/12/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Union and the United States aim to start up talks “as soon as possible” with a view to concluding a binding international agreement on data protection, states the declaration approved after the EU-US ministerial meeting held in Washington on 12 December (EUROPE 9804).
