Brussels, 16/12/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission and the Vietnamese authorities are jointly organising an ASEM Seminar "Preserving and promoting the diversity of cultural expressions: sharing Asian and European experience", which takes place in Hanoi, Vietnam on 15-16 December 2008. The aim of this event is to gather reflections on how to preserve and promote the diversity of cultural expressions, while sharing the rich Asian and European experiences in this field. The main aim was to exchange experiences and points of view on questions related to the diversity of cultural expressions, including reflections on the importance of the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions on this subject.
