Louis Michel calls on Zimbabwean authorities to allow humanitarian organisations to help stem spread of cholera

Brussels, 03/12/2008 (Agence Europe) - “Shocked at the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe”, European Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Louis Michel urged the authorities of Zimbabwe, on Wednesday 3 December, to allow full assistance from international humanitarian workers and regional partners in order to stem the spread of the cholera epidemic that now affects practically the whole country (11,700 cases and 473 deaths since August, according to WHO figures). “With almost no...
