24/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - Contrary to what we stated in our edition of 22 November, the European Parliament has decided to strip Frank Vanhecke, far right Belgian MEP and former president of the Flemish nationalist party Vlaams Belang, of his immunity from prosecution. He is accused by Belgian justice of bringing out a racist publication. The EP's decision was adopted on Tuesday 18 November by 564 votes to 61 and 42 abstentions. (A.B./transl.jl)
