24/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - It is highly likely that the forthcoming "Transport" Council (9 December) will manage to reach a general orientation on the revised proposed Eurovignette directive, which aims to include certain external road transport costs in the toll fees to be paid by heavy goods vehicles. The situation in the European Parliament, however, looks somewhat different. More than 400 amendments have been tabled after the first examination by the committee on transport of the EP of the draft report by Saïd El Khadraoui (PES, Belgium) on this dossier. The EP committee will return to this subject at its forthcoming meeting in January 2009. (A.By./trans.fl)
