19/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - In Paris on 1 December, the French Presidency is holding a seminar on energy security in the EU, including two technical sections on long-term security of supply and crisis forecasting/management, and a ministerial session on the role of the Community authorities. Taking part alongside French Ecology Minister Jean-Louis Borloo, Commissioner for Energy Andris Piebalgs and the MEP Alejo Vidal-Quadras (EPP-ED, Spain) will be several energy ministers, such as Michael Glos of Germany, Ed Miliband of the UK, Spain's Miguel Sebastian, Italy's Claudio Scajola, the Lithuanian Vytas Navickas, Poland's Valdemar Pawlak, Alexandr Vondra of the Czech Republic and Sweden's Maud Olofsson. Also taking part will be the former director of the IEA Claude Mandil, his successor Nobuo Tanaka and the coordinators of the inter-connection projects, Mario Monti and Jozias Van Aarsten.
