Court confirms right of Dutch State to make award of bursary conditional upon five years of residence

Brussels, 18/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - According to the Court of Justice, the Dutch legislation which limits student bursaries available to people with five years of residence in the country is in line with European law. The matter had been brought before the Court by the Dutch legal system, to which the matter had been referred by a German student whose bursary had been withdrawn for part of the year 2003 (case C-158/07).
