Gilles de Kerchove says insecurity in Sahel is growing threat for Europe

Brussels, 18/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - The growing influence of Al-Qaeda in the Sahel region, linked to the activities of terrorist networks in the Maghreb presents a potential major threat to the European Union. This is one of the main concerns in the report drawn up by EU Anti-terrorist Coordinator Gilles de Kerchove. In an interview with EUROPE, de Kerchove reveals some points of the report which he will present to EU home affairs ministers at the JHA Council on 27-28 November....
