Elmar Brok criticises Commissioner Olli Rehn over Turkey and the Lisbon Treaty

Brussels, 07/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, German MEP Elmar Brok (EPP-ED) has strongly criticised EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn for exceeding his mandate. When presenting the enlargement package to the media on 5 November 2008 (see EUROPE 9776), Rehn said that problems with ratification of the Lisbon Treaty should not interfere with the enlargement process. The commissioner indirectly criticised France, Germany and Luxembourg for opposing the idea of any new country...
