16/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission granted clearance, on Thursday 16 October, to the acquisition of sole control of Barclays Life Assurance Company Limited and its subsidiary BLAC Limited (Barclays Life) of the UK by Life Assurance Holding Corporation Limited (LAHC) of the UK, controlled by undertaking Swiss Reinsurance Company (Swiss Re) of Switzerland.
