Brussels, 10/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - As announced by EU Employment and Social Affairs Commissioner Vladimir Spidla (see Europe 9743), the European Commission submitted to the European Parliament and Council last week as plan to provide €35,158,075 from the Globalisation Fund to meet Italian requests for funding to help textile industry workers laid off in four regions (Sardinia, 1,044 redundancies; Piedmont 1,537 redundancies; Lombardy 1,816; and Tuscany 1,558 redundancies).
