Brussels, 29/08/2008 (Agence Europe) - The Parliament environment committee will have much to do at its first meeting on 8 and 9 September after the summer break, when it is to give its first reading opinion on the proposal for a directive requiring car manufacturers to reduce CO2 emissions from their new cars down to 130 g/km by 2012 (as against 160 g/km at present). This has to be achieved through improved engine technology.
