29/08/2008 (Agence Europe) - Inflation has slowed to 3.8% in the euro area in August, after reaching 4% in June and July, according to the flash estimate published by Eurostat on Friday 29 August. Fanned by the surge in oil and agricultural product prices, inflation had, until this month, been constantly increasing in the euro area since autumn 2007. (L.C./transl.rt)
