Brussels, 01/08/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is concerned that despite the current political talks between the President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe (of the Zanu-PF party) and his opponent Morgan Tsvangirai (of the MDC) on a power-sharing agreement, there is continued widespread violence and restrictions on humanitarian aid for the Zimbabwean population. It urges the parties to stick to the promises made in the Memorandum of Understanding of 21 July 2008.
