Publication of operational programmes in four French regions

Brussels, 30/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 30 July, the European Commission published the 2007-13 operational programmes for four French regions. As part of the “regional competitiveness and employment” objective, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), these programmes define the strategy and priorities for the regions:

Alsace. Approved on 30 November 2007, its total budget now stands at around €303 million. European Union ERDF aid is approximately €76 million, which represents around 0.5% of Community contributions in France as part of cohesion policy for 2007-13.

Auvergne. Endorsed on 19 October 2007, this region receives around €623 million. Aid from the European Union (EU) under the ERDF stands at almost €207 million, around 1.4% of Community contributions in France, as part of cohesion policy for 2007-13.

Lower Normandy. Adopted on 21 December 2007, this region is expected to receive a budget of around €485 million. EU aid as part of the ERDF stands at almost €181 million, around 1.3% of Community contributions in France as part of cohesion policy for 2007-13.

Poitou-Charentes. Approved on 19 November 2007, the region benefits from a budget of around €577 million. EU aid under ERDF stands at around €201 million, around 4% of Community contributions in France as part of cohesion policy for 2007-13. (A.B./trans/rh)
