11/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 11 July, the European Commission welcomed the WTO Appellate Body decision to open to the public an oral hearing on an appeal over a dispute referred to the WTO. At the request of the countries involved and with the aim of bringing transparency to WTO dispute settlement procedures, the hearing on 28-29 July on a problem between Canada and the United States over hormone-treated beef (see EUROPE 9632 and 9677) will be open to the public.
