Brussels, 03/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - At the headquarters of the Comunitat Valenciana in Brussels on Monday 30 June 2008, a new 'e-polis' website was launched for information, communication and cooperation between green towns and regions. e-polis is not just another network, explained Italian Greens/EFA MEP Monica Frassoni at a press conference. She said it was the tangible representation of the value-added of innovation and cooperation, explaining that the site's main aim was to establish connections between towns, regions and NGOs that favour sustainable development. The director general of the Comunitat Valenciana in Brussels, Juan Manuel Revuelta Perez, said that it was a green urban revolution, echoing comments by German Green MEP Gisela Kallenbach, who suggested that towns and regions should seize the initiative based on consensus among ordinary people about the climate issue.
