30/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - On 17 June, the European Commission submitted to the EU Council of Ministers a proposal for a regulation to codify the regulation on the supplementary protection certificate for medicinal products (regulation [EEC] No 1768). The proposed regulation gathers the original regulation and all amendments made to it in a single text. It is a purely formal exercise to clarify and simplify the legislation. There will be no change to the substance of the original directive or its subsequent amendments.
