18/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 17 June, the European Commission approved the proposed acquisition of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté by L'Oréal. These two French companies develop, produce and sell cosmetics. The Commission's investigation showed that the merged entity would still face strong competition from international cosmetic manufacturers, such as Estée Lauder, LVMH and Chanel. (L.C./transl.rt)
