16/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - On 16 June in Luxembourg, EU foreign affairs ministers reaffirmed their commitment to a comprehensive approach for a lasting settlement in the Somali crisis at a political, security and humanitarian level. In its conclusions, the Council welcomes the 9 June agreement on which inter-Somali negotiations unfolded, and underlines the urgency of keeping up the momentum of an inclusive dialogue for an inclusive and sustained dialogue. It also welcomes Resolution 1816 of the UN Security Council, unanimously adopted on 2 June on acts of piracy and armed robbery off the coast of Somalia. (A.N./transl.rh.)
