GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/financial services

16/06/2008 (Agence Europe) -The European Commission is to set up an expert group on credit histories, whose mission will be to investigate the legal, regulatory and administrative barriers limiting the cross-border access of data on credit within the EU. Improved circulation of these data would be useful, amongst other things, to lenders in their assessment of the credit worthiness of a borrower situated in another member state. This group, to be made up of some 20 representatives of consumer associations, the industry, the member states and academic circles, will present its report in May 2009. Interested persons may apply for 14 July 2008. For more information, see: http: //ec.europa.eu/internal_market/finservices-retail/credit/history_fr.htm (M.B./transl.fl)
