Brussels, 16/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 16 June 2008, the European Commission cleared the proposed acquisition of Swedish truck and bus manufacturer Scania by the Volkswagen group of Germany. The Commission's examination of the proposed transaction showed that the parties' activities do not overlap as far as their core business is concerned.
