06/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 5 June 2008, the European Parliament approved without amendment Draft Amending Budget 4/2008 which includes in the budget the €1.528 billion 2007 surplus (see EUROPE 9346 for details). This will mean that the overall contribution of member states to funding the EU's 2008 budget can be reduced by the same amount.
