GENERAL NEWS / (eu) ep/2008 budget

06/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - Adopting a report on Thursday 5 June 2008 by Reimer Böge (EPP-ED, Germany) by 637 votes to 13 with 7 abstentions, the European Parliament approved a decision to grant €98 million in commitment and payment undertakings from the European Solidarity Fund. Greece will be given €89.7 million following the forest fires of August 2007 and Slovenia will be given €2.1 million following the September 2007 floods in the country. (L.C./transl. fl)
