European parliamentary mission says situation on ground is worsening and time is not right for upgrading relations with Israel

Brussels, 04/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, a delegation from the European Parliament, chaired by Véronique de Keyser (PES, Belgium), consisting of MEPs from different political groups at the Working Group Middle East, returned from a mission to Israel, the Palestinian territories, East Jerusalem and Gaza.

Improvements have been noted in the West Bank but these are only relative. Ms De Keyser said that they had certainly “observed encouraging improvements in the security situation...
