04/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its first public outing, the CEI Youth Orchestra will give several concerts this year in many European cities. This orchestra, which was created to promote a message of peace, cultural cooperation and European integration, is made up of young musicians between the ages of 11 and 18, from the 18 member states of the Central European Initiative (CEI), who were selected at auditions. After three concerts in Brussels, held on 31 May and 1 and 2 June with the support of the Representation of the Region of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, in the framework of the Italian national festival, the young orchestra will start its summer tour in Villach, Austria, on 11 July. Austria will once again host the young musicians for the last performance of the year, the New Year's concert in Vienna. (I.L.)
