30/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - After a decline in April (to 3.3%), the eurozone again notched up a record inflation rate in May 2008. According to data published on Friday 30 May by Eurostat, the rise in prices is 3.6% at an annual rate, a level already reached in March. The high price of petrol (close to $130 the barrel) and of food products fuels inflation, which largely exceeds the 2% target fixed by the ECB. (A.B.)
