Andris Piebalgs welcomes entry of Carrefour supermarket chain as a new electricity supplier in Belgium

Brussels, 30/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - On 29 May 2008, EU Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs welcomed the launch of Carrefour Energie EcoPlanet, a programme that will make the Carrefour supermarket chain a new provider in the Belgian electricity market. The Carrefour Group, one of the partners of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign, is the first European retailer to sell electricity to end consumers.
