Green light for EU ambassadors to launch negotiations with Moscow on new strengthened partnership agreement

Brussels, 21/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 21 May, member states reached an agreement on the Commission's negotiating brief for discussions with Russia on a new strengthened partnership agreement. On Wednesday, at the Coreper meeting, Lithuania withdrew its final reservation on the text, which will formally be approved, without discussion, by the General Affairs Council on 26 May.
