EP demands that European Commission show “more political courage” by proposing an “general” anti-discrimination directive and “results”

Brussels, 20/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - In order to combat all forms of discrimination, the European Parliament has asked the European Commission to propose a general directive covering disabilities, age, religion or beliefs and sexual orientation “in order to complete the anti-discrimination package under article 13 of the EC Treaty”. Effective sanctions must be put in place and effective support ensured for the victims of discrimination. The necessary measures must urgently be taken to...
