Commission begins consultation exercise on future of energy-intensive industries open to international competition after 2013

Brussels, 15/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has begun the consultation process on what can be done in 2013 to protect energy-intensive industries from threats of relocation should the international community not manage to conclude a global agreement on combating global warming by 2009. A first consultation meeting with industry and NGOs was organised by DG Environment in Brussels on 11 April. In a speech on climate change delivered to the Centre for European Policy Studies...
