15/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - On 14 April, at the Agriculture Council, Portugal announced its plans to lift the additional health protection measures put in place at its borders to prevent the import of animals from parts of the Community affected by bluetongue. The European Commission said it expected a similar swift response from Italy. The issue of the export of French weanlings to Italy has yet to be decided, however (see EUROPE 9628).
