11/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - The vote at the EP on the report by Dutch MEP Erik Meijer on the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), initially scheduled for Thursday 10 April, has been postponed. In a debate on 9 April, several MEPs urged FYROM and Greece to reach agreement fast on the use of the name 'Macedonia' as this problem ran the risk of compromising the opening of EU accession talks with FYROM (see EUROPE 9637).
