- United Kingdom: The British government is ready to fully privatise the nuclear energy leader, British Energy, in which it holds 35.2% of the capital. Such an operation could bring in £2.3 billion at the current stock market rate. Last June, it had sold a 30% stake on the market for £2.4 billion. According to The Financial Times, EDF, E.ON, RWE, Iberdrola and Centrica have been contacted in order to assess their interest in a share of British Energy. (I.L.)
