01/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - In an interview with Bloomberg recently, Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, often suggested as a possible contender to become the first president of the European Council (foreseen under the Lisbon Reform Treaty from 1 January 2009 onwards), said he had no intention of quitting the Danish government to take up this European post. 'My political ambition is to fulfil my task as prime minister of Denmark,' he said. (H.B.)
