Ukraine: the Ukrainian government is preparing to sell off most of its stake in the national telephone operator, Ukretelecom. The state owns 92.8 of the stock and wants to sell of 67.7% of its assets for nearly $7bn. In 2006, Ukrtelecom controlled more than 80% of the market in land lines in the country, with about 10 million subscribers.
