17/03/2008 (Agence Europe) - Serbia is expected to gain the official status of EU accession candidate country “as soon as possible”, Bernard Kouchner and Carl Bildt, foreign ministers of France and Sweden, state in an article published this week by several European dailies. Both countries are ready to help Belgrade move forward towards membership, the ministers say, explaining that they are certain Serbia will soon be a member of the European Union as it “cannot be otherwise”.
