03/03/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 28 February, the European Parliament's budget committee approved the decision to give the United Kingdom €162.38 million from the EU budget (the Solidarity Fund) to help with the aftermath of the severe floods in June and July 2007 (see EUROPE 9561). A report by Reimer Böge (EPP-ED) on use of the EU Solidarity Fund is expected to be adopted by the European Parliament on 11 March 2008. (L.C.)
