22/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 19 February, the European Parliament decided to defend the immunity of Italian MEP Claudio Fava, who had criticised relations between politicians and the Mafia in Sicily. Legal action was begun at the request of the president of the Region of Sicily, Salvatore Cuffaro (Lehne report). (O.J.)
