Peter Mandelson in Kiev to open negotiations on bilateral free trade agreement with Ukraine

Brussels, 15/02/2008 (Agence Europe) - After the green light was given (on 5 February) to Ukraine's accession to the WTO, Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson will travel to Kiev on 18 February to open talks on a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA). He will meet Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn. Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko has often said that he hoped to complete the FTA between the end of 2008 and the start of 2009.
