25/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 24 January, the European Medicines Agency said that, despite the deaths of two women, one in Austria and the other in Germany, the benefits of the anti-HPV vaccine Gardasil continue to outweigh the risks. This vaccine is used to prevent cervical cancer and other diseases caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6, 11, 16, and 18. (O.J.)
