21/01/2008 (Agence Europe) - Romania and Bulgaria want to make a joint accession to the Schengen area in March 2011. According to Romania and Bulgaria's joint declaration, this aim should be achieved in close collaboration between them. It will be signed on 25 January in the afternoon by Romania and Bulgaria's ministers of the interior at the informal JHA Council. The Slovenian minister of the interior, Dragutin Mate and Commissioner Franco Frattini will also attend. (B.C.)
