11/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - As part of the Road Charging Interoperability (RCI) project, co-financed by the European Commission, next week, London will test the European electronic road pricing service. The system must respond to the arrangements of the directive on the interoperability of electronic pricing systems brought forward by the European Commission in April 2003, to ensure compatibility of all the systems in use in the European Union (see EUROPE 8448). Following this first test in London, which will involve two lorries, the RCI will carry out a series of tests at the start of 2008 in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, pain and Switzerland. (A.By.)
