Commission increases Slovak National Allocation for CO2 by 1.7 million tonnes for 2008-12

Brussels, 07/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 7 December the European Commission adopted a decision on the proposed amendments to the Slovakian national plan for allocating carbon dioxide (CO2) emission allowances for the 2008-2012 trading period of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS).

In its decision of 26 November 2006, the Commission set the annual Slovak National Allocation at 30.9 million tonnes of CO2 as opposed to the 41.3 million tonnes requested by Bratislava. Friday's decision...
