23/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - Following the recent closure of press organs and the persecution of journalists and human rights activists in Iran, the Portuguese presidency adopted a declaration on the behalf of the EU which “urges” Tehran to immediately respect its international commitments on human rights, as well as the provisions in Iranian national law on freedom of expression and association.
