05/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - Meeting in Brussels on Wednesday 3 October, the president of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, and the president of the Swiss Confederation, Micheline Calmy-Rey, announced that bilateral talks for an EU-Switzerland agreement on electricity transit and the reciprocal opening of electricity markets will begin in Brussels on 8 November.
