05/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - An international conference against the death penalty will be jointly organised on Tuesday 9 October in Lisbon by the Council of Europe, the Portuguese EU Council Presidency and the European Commission. Further to the decision taken on 26 September by its ministerial committee, the Council of Europe will officially proclaim that 10 October is the European Day Against the Death Penalty (EUROPE 9512).
