Talks on protecting designations for agricultural products

Brussels, 05/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 4 October in Brussels, Switzerland and the European Community began talks on the mutual protection of their geographical indications (PGI) and designations of origin (PDO) for agricultural products and foodstuffs. Mutual protection aims to facilitate bilateral trade and should have a positive effect (added value in agricultural channels, promotion of quality and defence of traditional products).
