Banking on a deficit of 2.3% in 2008, France reaches pause in its measures for making public finances more healthy

Brussels, 26/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - In its presentation on 26 September of its draft budget for deficit of €41.7bn for next year, the French budget is very likely to be the same as it was in 2007 (where it stood at €42bn). As the French minister for the economy, Christine Lagarde, again confirmed to her Eurogroup counterparts in Porto (EUROPE 9502), the debt ratio to GDP will indeed be 2.3% next year, as opposed to 2.4% in 2007.
